Update the Rose Engine Butler System
To update the software on your Rose Engine Butler system, you will need to be connected to the Internet. This is typically done via your home Wi-Fi network. (Wi-Fi setup instructions)
Once you are connected to the Internet, you can update your Rose Engine Butler system. To do so, open a Terminal Emulator window and enter this command:
| bash REB_Update.sh |
This program will download any available updates for the following,:
- The operating system (Debian)
- The anti-virus system (ClamAV)
- The LinuxCNC programs
- The Rose Engine Butler configuration
and then apply these upgrades to your system.
It is a good practice to reboot your computer after upgrading it. You can turn your system off and then back on, or enter this command in the Terminal Emulator window:
| sudo reboot |
Additional Notes
If you run the update program too soon after starting up your system, you may encounter an error. This is because the virus scanning is still running.
Wait 30 minutes and run it again. This should clear up any issues.
